Not sure if anyone has already posted about the program but jamie Olivers latest program is about British food origins and he is traveling round in a converted ex army Bedford, an MK if I am correct, looks like the 4 wheel drive version anyway that has been fitted with a fancy wooden box on the back, may be worth a watch, you may not get to see much of the bedford but it looks well cool.
saw one of these, don't see much of the truck which is a dissapointment. Why are so many tv hours wasted on filming the presenter rather than the programme content.I know what J Oliver looks like and I want to see more of the truck.

Well said, Don't mind Jamie Oliver but I would rather watch a whole program about the truck for an episode.
quite frankly I think Jamie Oliver would be more useful made into sausages and fed to starving children in deprived places like Haverhill and Kesgrave but thats not vegan and against EU food safety regs.
Unfortunately the reason these shows end up like this is because the celebs often own the production company and basically buy their time on air by pitching a entire programme package to the commissioning editor, so it becomes a big ego trip for them as opposed to in house production.
the truck was probably hired anyway from one of the preserved vehicle places..
If there really is a demand for films of TK's I'd try and arrange to make one with m45k1 if he's up for it but he's likely to be a bit shy about appearing on YT...
The link below takes you to Jamie olivers 'official site' and once there you will see a pic of the out side of his truck. If you really want to get close up and personal with it you can hire it!! All you have to do is email him for the details. No, I am not joking!!
great looking truck, shame about the presenter - have just looked at the website and see the Jamie franchise is now massive - they are even advertising for people to hold sort of Tupperware parties to sell Jamie Oliver products. What irritates me is that these days you can look at any cookery book section in bookshops and 99% of them have more photographs than recipes. I usually only buy second hand books anyway, and with cookery books usually the ones that are well used with lots of stains on the pages as this shows someone really rated the recipes, but I find it disappointing that so much energy is put into producing recipe books that most people will likely never use other than to drool over the pictures.
bet he doesnt get shouted at when he pulls into a layby or somewhere for the night!
no, because after the shot is taken the TK would be returned to some private garage, or a spot where the production company have paid hard cash to be there, with appropriate security.
Jamie might be a bit of **** but he is not a complete muppet and anyone what has any connections to Essex or the surrounding areas knows that if you have a nice set of wheels you keep a close eye on it if you want it to still be there tomorrow and/or remain in one piece and thats means anything from army tanks to bicycles!
I don't even think its his personal vehicle (he does apparently own some sort of small German camper van), but hired out from a separate business for this sort of purpose.
